PHILOSOPHY :: LAGOM

Lagom is a Swedish word that is difficult to translate into English. "Just right" or perhaps "in balance" is as close as it gets. It refers to that moment when a project comes together. When a design just works. When an installation serves its purpose. When a solution proves to be exact, simple and beautiful, as if it was always meant to be there.

Today everything is digital, people are networked and media is fluid. Responding to both the zeitgeist and the demands of current culture, we bring ideas and solutions that conform to the intense pressures of the market without surrendering to the lowest common denominator.

Our first step is to listen. Then act. Strive to understand the whole landscape before digging in. The power of a media installation, a design, or an event depends on more than a clear and creative vision. It requires the perfect partners, clean communication, diligent direction, and lagom.

LEADERSHIP

Pete Bjordahl :: Principal
Pete is the Founder and Principal of The GSD Group. Pete is a 10 year veteran in the design and media industry. Before founding GSD in 1999 Pete worked with Watts-Silverstien and Jack Morton Worldwide as a lead designer. In 2001, he was honored as one of the top Multimedia Designers in the US by AV Multimedia Producer. Pete holds a degree in Architecture from the University of Washington.

Andy Graydon :: Director
Andy is a Creative Director, film and video director and artist. Andy's personal work (http://www.andygraydon.net) focuses on the problems and potentials in the interaction of sound, image and space. Andy holds a BA in Comparative History of Ideas from the University of Washington and a MFA in Film and Media Arts from Northwestern.
